Noise will not liberate Quds
AL-QUDS DAY... Al-Quds army... advances upto Al-Quds. This is mere propaganda because Israel continues to occupy Al-Quds amidst the noise and calls to strip it of its Arab identity. Israel even declared Al-Quds as its permanent capital in 1980. All the countries engaged in the noisy propaganda have not done any tangible step to rescue the holy city. Iran only uses the issue to interfere in the internal affairs of Arabs, in collaboration with groups like Hamas and Hezbollah who have been making noise since1948. They declared the last Friday of every Ramadan as Al-Quds Day when they used the slogan to demonstrate. The demonstrations are suspicious deals planned behind the scene to interfere in Arab issues. This has been going on over the last three decades.
There have been a series of demonstrations against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories since 1962, while Gamal Abdul-Nasser initiated the noisy revolutionary slogans that amounted to nothing in 1952. The revolution only led to further loss, weakness and compromises. Demonstra-tions cannot liberate Palestine because the noise has lost prominence at the global level due to the belief that the minority is voiceless. Arabs have organized numerous demonstrations for the past six decades, but the Israeli occupation continues to wax stronger instead of liberating Palestine. The systems, which claim to be revolutionary and advancing towards liberation, are always ready to compromise to remain in power and protect personal interests.
The late Egyptian President Anwar Al-Sadat affirmed the demonstrations and propagandas can not liberate Palestine or protect nations. He used personal discretion, as well as heroic and strategic maturity to liberate the Sinai peninsula from Israeli occupation. President Hosni Mubarak has been able to protect this unprecedented achievement.
Arabs should have taken this step in the 1960s, especially when late Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba announced in clear terms, right inside Al-Quds, that the Arabs can not liberate Palestine unless they engage in negotiations and recognize Israel. Arabs should have protected remnants of Al-Quds at the time, instead of hurling accusations at the man from Arab pulpits. They could have used this to protect Palestine and prevent spread of the settlement ‘virus’ in the country.
The commemoration of Al-Quds Day, which was initiated by the Iranian government in 1980, is not only a ploy to meddle in internal Arab and Islamic issues but also a replica of Saddam Hussain’s demonstrations. He used spy networks during the occupation of Kuwait to distort facts through mercenaries employed by the spies in some countries to demonstrate on his behalf. The most notable of these demonstrations was held in the US in which the participants received $50 each, but it was a failed arrangement, since they could not conceal the truth. Iran has been planning to take a similar step through the celebration of Al-Quds Day. Actually, Al-Quds did not ask for this, since it has opted to focus on other parts of the Arab nations.
