Answer: No, you can’t get a driving licence if you are on a work permit and earning less than KD 400/- a month. Housewives, with children, who are staying on dependent visas can, however, get a licence. These children must be school-going.

So, the only way out is to see a Director of the Traffic Department and explain your problem to him, although the chances of your request being accepted are very thin.
