Son, nephew rob Kuwaiti citizen Arab family detained
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: A 55-year-old Kuwaiti filed a complaint at Ardiya Police Station against his son and nephew who allegedly stole KD 1,200 from his safety deposit box Sunday.
The Kuwaiti told police the culprits entered his room and broke his safety deposit box, carting away cash amounting KD 1,200. Before carrying out the crime, his son and nephew asked money from him but he refused to give them the requested amount. A day after rejecting their requested, the duo broke his safety deposit box, took KD 1,200 cash and traveled abroad.
A case was registered and investigations are underway to arrest the suspects.
Arab family detained: Police have taken into custody an Arab family for preventing police from doing their duty and helping the head of the family to escape, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said this happened when police went to arrest the man following a complaint filed by two youths. The youths said they gave their passports to the man to renew their residence permits and the man was refusing to give back their passports.
When police called the man to visit the police station, he refused.
Armed with a search and arrest warrant police then raided his home but the family members armed with knives threatened to stab the police and helped the man to escape.
Man stabbed: A 33-year-old Kuwaiti suffered from a stab wound in his right shoulder after engaging in a fistfight with two compatriots in front of a cooperative society in Kabad Sunday.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information on the public brawl. When they arrived at the location, they found one of the Kuwaitis got a stab wound in his right shoulder, so they took him to Farwaniya Hospital.
The two other Kuwaitis were referred to a nearby police station for interrogation. They told police they had a heated argument with the victim over earlier disputes.
3 held drunk: Securitymen arrested three Kuwaitis, in their 20s, for consuming alcohol in Sabahiya Sunday.
While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they asked the driver to pull over. When they approached the car, police discovered the driver had two companions — all are Kuwaitis. They also found out the Kuwaitis were under the influence of alcohol.
A case was registered against the Kuwaitis and the relevant security department started taking the necessary legal action.
Asian assaulted: An Asian suffered from an injury in his back and fracture in his right hand when unidentified persons assaulted him in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Sunday. Securitymen and medical emergency personnel rushed to the location after receiving a call from a passerby who saw the victim lying unconscious near a flat in Jleeb. They took the Asian to Farwaniya Hospital. A case was registered and police are waiting for the condition of the Asian to get better before starting investigations to identify his assailants.
Cars broken into: A Kuwaiti man and his female compatriot lodged a complaint at Farwaniya Police Station against unidentified persons who stole money and other valuable items from their vehicles Sunday.
The complainants told police their cars were parked near a famous commercial complex in the area. They were surprised when they went out of the complex to find the windows of their cars broken. When they checked the contents of their vehicles, they discovered the thieves had taken some money and valuable items. Police lifted fingerprints from the vehicles to identify the culprits.
