Accident led to the death of the Indian driver of a bus hit by a traffic patrol at a traffic signal. Some of the nurses travelling in the bus were also injured.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: Three Kuwaitis and three expatriates died in traffic accidents, which occurred in different parts of the country from Aug 21-28, according to the weekly statistical report released by the Media Information Department at the Ministry of Interior recently.
The report showed the six motorists died when their vehicles collided with another and somersaulted on the road, while others were hit by speeding cars.
The department called on the road users to strictly comply with traffic rules and regulations to protect their lives and that of other motorists, adding that the number of traffic accident victims continues to rise at an alarming rate and this reflects negatively on the Kuwaiti society.
Meanwhile, two people died in seven traffic accidents that occurred at various locations in the country, as 17 other people sustained various degrees of injuries.
An Asian driver of a bus died instantly, and a Vice Corporal with four nurses sustained various degrees of injuries, after a police car collided with the bus carrying 10 nurses at a traffic intersection, opposite the Ministry of Education in Shuwaikh Sunday. Security sources said one of the two vehicles had crossed a red signal, which resulted in a two-traffic collision and the bus overturned. The driver is said to have died immediately. Meanwhile, rescue officers promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving a distress call in that regard, and the officers took the remains of the driver to the Forensics, while paramedics rushed the injured nurses and Vice Corporal Hamad Al-Farraj to the Sabah Hospital for medical attention. In a similar incident, one person succumbed to his injuries when two cars collided on the Sixth Ring Road. Acting on information the Operations Room received about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene to assist the situation. However, the victim had already died by the time rescue arrived.
The remains were referred to the forensics for autopsy.
Three Egyptians and an Indian expatriate were seriously injured after their cars crashed on the King Fahad Motorway. Paramedics were on hand to refer them to the Adan hospital for treatment.
In yet another incident, a Kuwaiti citizen in his late 40s sustained injuries in different parts of the body during an accident on the Ghazali Road. He was sent to the Farwaniya hospital by paramedics.
Three Asians in their 30s respectively sustained various degrees of injuries when their cars smashed into each other on the Wafra Road. Medical Emergency Personnel transferred the injured people to the Adan hospital for medical attention.
And, two citizens, 17 and 20 years respectively were injured in different places of their bodies in an accident that occurred on the Jahra Street. They are receiving treatment in Jahra hospital, thanks to paramedics.
Schizophrenic held: Police have arrested an unidentified UAE citizen working for a bank in the UAE as manager and handed him over to his country’s embassy in Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily.
Intensive investigations conducted by police revealed the suspect was residing in a hotel in Salmiya.
However, when police reached the hotel they did not find him and instead were told the man was on his way to the airport. Police rushed to the airport and seized him before he could take a flight to Thailand.
Earlier it was reported the man had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Omrah and instead of returning to the UAE, he allegedly entered Kuwait. He is also believed to be a schizophrenic.
It is not known if the man was taken into custody at the request of the UAE authorities.
