185 public bus drivers protest KD 50 salary cut
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: A total of 185 public bus drivers went on strike recently, since the company has been ignoring their repeated requests on the withdrawal of a decision on reducing their salaries by KD 50, reliable sources told the Arab Times. Sources said the strike led to chaos in many government sectors because a large number of the expatriate workers depend on public buses to reach their work places.
Sources revealed the protesters threatened to continue the strike until their demands are met. The protesters lamented the fact that the salaries of the company officials have increased, while their salaries decreased. They also criticized the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for ignoring their demands, sources concluded.
