Woman harassed
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: A Kuwaiti woman lodged a complaint Thursday at Sharq Police Station against the secretary of a lawmaker for allegedly harassing her.
The woman told police she was driving near a traffic light when the secretary waved his hands and harassed her on the road. She then asked him to stop while she called police.
During the interrogation, the suspect denied the woman’s claim and the lawmaker tried to intervene but the complainant insisted on filing a misdemeanor case against the secretary.
Smuggling bid foiled: Officials of the Customs Department foiled an Arab man’s attempt to smuggle 700 ladies’ handbags and 4,000 accessories, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily did not give any more details.
US truck stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person who drove away a fuel tanker truck belonging to the US troops in Araifjan, reports Al-Anba daily.
The driver of the truck reportedly went to the restroom leaving the engine on and by the time he returned, the truck was stolen.
A police source said the thief might not be aware that the truck belonged to the US army. Sources say precautionary measures are being taken at the gates of US military facilities.
Schizophrenic sought: Police are looking for a UAE national who reportedly entered Kuwait after performing Omrah in Saudi Arabia, reports Al-Qabas daily.
It is reported that the UAE national, who is a bank manager, went to Saudi Arabia, but instead of returning to his country, he allegedly entered Kuwait. It is reported that he is a schizophrenic.
Woman among 3 held: The Hawalli police have arrested three Kuwaitis including one woman — one of them is wanted by police in a murder case, another in connection with a financial fraud, and the woman for cheating a company to the tune of KD 500, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to a security source these three people were found by police in abnormal condition in Salmiya, inside a parked car on the Salem Al-Mubarak Street near a restaurant.
Police have allegedly seized from their car a bag containing a quantity of heroin.
They have been referred to the concerned authorities.
