18 Kuwaitis, have not entered Kuwait for 20 yrs, get pensions 14 citizens added Bedoun children in family records
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: Investigations have revealed that 18 Kuwaitis who have not entered the country since more than 20 years have been receiving their pensions regularly, reports Al-Shahed weekly.
A security source said the pensions were being transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts in a GCC State. The Ministry of Interior contacted the GCC State and came to know that all 18 people held the citizenship of that state. A report on the issue will be submitted to the ministry Undersecretary and a directive revoking the nationality of these 18 people might be issued after the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, added the source.
Furthermore, investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigations Department revealed that 14 Kuwaiti citizens forged documents and added Bedoun children in their family records in return of KD 60,000 per child.
According to a source, whenever the wives of these Kuwaiti men gave birth, these men applied for two birth certificates through wasta — one for their own child and the other for the Bedoun child.
The CID is continuing investigations to find details about this dangerous trend.
