Real estate owner among several women held for begging
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: During a crackdown on beggars the Hawalli police recently arrested four women - two Arabs from an unidentified country who entered the country on visit visas, one bedoun and one Kuwaiti, reports Al-Anba.
The Arab women have been referred to the concerned authorities prior to their deportation from the country, while the bedoun was made to sign a pledge not to return to begging and released.
However, when the police contacted the home of the Kuwaiti woman, her son came to bail her out.
To the surprise of policemen they discovered the woman is the owner of real estate and even gives alms to the poor.
The son told the police his mother is suffering from psychological problems and that this is not the first time she was picked by police for begging.
She has been released but the cops have asked the son to take care of his mother.
