Nepali shepherd kills himself 9 Asian, 2 Arab illegals held
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: A Nepalese shepherd took his own life inside a livestock pen in Kabad. Initially, officers had suspected foul play when security operatives at the Operations Room received a distress call in that regard. They believed the deceased was killed, probably in an attempt by thieves to steal the sheep in his care, but autopsy report revealed the man actually committed suicide.
Jahra Security Chief Brigadier Mohammad Tana Al-Enezi, Tima Area Commander Lieutenant Colonel Falah Al-Shammari, Security Patrol Leader Major Matar Al-Sebil and Tima Divisional Police Officer Captain Ghunaim Al-Thufairi were present to follow up the investigation.
Illegals detained: Farwaniya securitymen arrested nine Asians and two Arabs for violating the Residency Law during a surprise inspection campaign Tuesday in Farwaniya, Rehab and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
As part of its commitment to track down criminals, the Farwaniya Security Department formed a team of securitymen tasked to carry out a surprise inspection campaign in different parts of the governorate. They installed temporary check points at strategic locations, resulting in the arrest of nine Asians and two Arabs found to have violated the Residency Law.
Sources revealed the department will continue conducting such campaigns to ensure strict compliance with the law.
Drugs, liquor seized: Securitymen arrested a 28-year-old Kuwaiti for the possession of eight narcotic pills and some bottles of imported liquor in Kabad Motorway Tuesday.
While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver - a Kuwaiti - to pull over. When police approached the vehicle, they discovered the suspect was under the influence of liquor. They then searched his vehicle thoroughly, resulting in the discovery of eight narcotic pills and an undisclosed number of bottles of imported liquor. The Kuwaiti was referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action.
Explosive detonated: Bomb experts detonated an explosive found inside a manhole in South Surra Wednesday.
After receiving information on a strange object found in the manhole, securitymen and bomb experts rushed to the location. When they reached the area, the bomb experts checked the strange object and found that it was an explosive, so they immediately took the necessary measures to detonate the bomb.
Cash, gold stolen: A Bedoun filed a complaint at Sulaibiya Police Station Wednesday against unidentified persons, who allegedly stole KD 1,000 and gold worth KD 300 from his house.
The Bedoun told police he and his family were surprised to find the door of their house when they returned home. When he went inside his room, he discovered the thieves opened his safety deposit box and carted away KD 1,000 cash, in addition to gold worth KD 300.
Criminal Evidence Department personnel lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing in this regard.
Fire drill at home?: A Kuwaiti woman was arrested for making an emergency call to the Operations Room, informing the rescue officers that fire engulfed a house in South Surra.
Firefighters, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location only to find out that a fire drill was being carried out at the house. Security officers then arrested the Kuwaiti woman and a case was registered against her.
