KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: In an effort by Ministry of Interior to curb the phenomenon of begging during the holy month of Ramadan, patrol officers recently arrested several beggars near a mosque in the Capital. They have since been referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.

‘Swindler’ caught: Hawalli securitymen arrested an Arab man who broke into a flat of another Arab expat and escaped with KD 10,000 and 8,900 Jordanian dinars. Police could recover only KD 9,000 from him as he had spent the rest of the amount, say sources.
The man was wanted by law for his involvement in swindling cases.

Asian held with liquor: Security operatives from Farwaniya apprehended an Asian expatriate in possession of eight bottles of liquor in Jleeb Shuyoukh. He was taken to the relevant authority for prosecution.

‘Friends’ beat, rob Asian: An Asian expatriate filed a report at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station saying some Asians whom he knew beat him up and robbed KD 130 and his mobile phone from him on Tuesday. The complainant said he had some disputes with the suspects earlier and that they were all living in the same area.

Trio stab Kuwaiti youth: An 18-year-old Kuwaiti was seriously injured when three other teenagers stabbed him in the back in Ardiya Tuesday. Acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred the youth to the ICU of Farwaniya Hospital.

Car stolen near home: A Kuwaiti man filed a complaint at Andalous Police Station saying his vehicle which was parked outside his building was stolen. Police are conducting investigations.

‘Drugged’ citizen found in car: A citizen in his late 30s was found unconscious inside a car parked in front of a mosque. Apparently, the man was under the effect of drugs.
Based on a distress call passers-by placed to the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry to report the episode, paramedics accompanied securitymen to the scene, while the man was referred to the Mubarak hospital. A case was registered against him.
