‘Israeli scribe saying things to instigate chaos in country’ MP queries PM on ‘breach’ of security

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan believes the Israeli journalist, who allegedly entered Kuwaiti, is merely instigating chaos as he might be taking advantage of the Kuwaiti lawmakers’ outrage over the purportedly weak security system used by the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
This is considered the first government statement on the issue, since the publication of reports on the alleged entry of the Israeli journalist to the country a few days ago.
Al-Roudhan asserted, “We do not hide facts as we are transparent in dealing with any issue, especially if it concerns national security.”
Asked about his reaction on the alleged plan of the journalist to publish his interviews and his impressions on Kuwait in European and Israeli newspapers, Al-Roudhan admitted, “We have no idea who among the prominent Kuwaiti personalities he met during his purported visit in the country. He might have issued such a statement only to instigate chaos.”
On the Israelis who entered Kuwait in 2005, Al-Roudhan affirmed the Ministry of Interior has looked into the issue and they discovered that the employee in charge of the passports entered the symbol of Israel by mistake, while registering the data of two foreigners as the symbol for their nationality is almost similar to that of Israel. He added this error has been rectified and the symbol has been removed from the computer.
Meanwhile, MP Faisal Al-Muslim has asked HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to clarify the issue and hold those behind the scandal responsible.
Commenting on the same issue, the Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM) called on the concerned authorities to look into the supposed entry of Israelis into the country without being detected by the security officers.  It also stressed the need to punish those who allowed the entry of the Israelis, since the incident is a serious security threat to the nation.
