Suspect denies sexual intention Minor abducted

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 22: Fahed A. who is accused of kidnapping a minor for sexual intent pleaded ‘not guilty’ on Sunday during his first session at the Court of First Instance. He stated that he had known his lover, Badria M., who is less than 18 years of age, for two years and had intended to marry her at the time of the incident. The next hearing is set for Sept 19.
Meanwhile, the court heard the statements of Badr S. and Jamal M. who were both arrested on Oct 13, 2009 and accused of drug possession with the intent to sell. Badr’s lawyer, Faris Al-Amir, asked the judge to dismiss the case on the grounds of false police procedures which may include tampering with evidence.
Al-Amir said that police procedures and documents were inaccurate and claimed that three bas of drugs were found in the car belonging to the accused while investigators found only one bag. The time of arrest documented also did not match the time stated by the accused during interrogation. The judge ordered for more investigations on the case and set the next hearing to Aug 30.

Scribe robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who broke into the home of a journalist in the suburb of Sa’ad Al-Abdullah and escaped with electrical appliances and expensive watches, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Kuwaiti held with ‘pills’: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for possessing narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the man was arrested for reckless driving and while issuing a citation, a police officer discovered the man was in a disoriented condition. Police then searched him and seized from him 90 drug pills.

Youth goes berserk: A case of suicide attempt has been registered against a 20-year-old Kuwaiti, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
It has been reported the man youth was seen climbing over the fence of the house armed with a knife and he threatened to end his life following a dispute with his family.
Acting on information policemen and paramedics rushed to the spot and convinced the youth to surrender.
Then youth has been admitted to the Mubarak Al-Kabir hospital with minor injury.

Company officer looted: Police are looking for unidentified burglars who allegedly broke into the office of a company in Fahaheel and escaped with six cellphones worth KD 450, prepaid telephone cards worth KD 260, KD 140 in cash and some other stuff, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
