Fights, stabbings on rise Landmine kills Bangladeshi

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: A Bangladeshi shepherd died after stepping on a landmine in a desert area near Al-Rawdhatain Saturday.
An Asian expatriate who witnessed the accident called the Operations Room, following which paramedics rushed to the scene and found that the victim died due to serious injuries in the head and chest. The victim’s corpse was referred to forensics.
The mine is believed to be a remnant of ammunition left behind by retreating Iraqi soldiers in 1991.

3 hurt in fight: Three Kuwaitis in their 20s and 30s respectively sustained injuries during a clash with five other youths in Salmiya.
Acting on information the Operations Room received about the episode, securitymen accompanied paramedics to the scene to maintain order, and the injured youths were referred to the Mubarak hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the rest of the feuding party was sent to the police station. The case has since been registered for investigation.

Kuwaiti stabbed: A Kuwaiti, 44, was stabbed in the head and shoulder late Friday. Sources say the man was found fully drenched in blood near a school in Farwaniya. Acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred him to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment.
Sources say the victim knew the stabber. They reportedly had some disagreement and allegedly the victim tried to give the suspect a ‘detergent’ to get rid of him. This incensed the suspect and he stabbed the latter.

Duo in brawl: Two Kuwaitis in their 30s fought in Ardiya, resulting in severe injuries to one of them. A rescue team was dispatched to the scene when the Operations Room was alerted in that concern, whereas paramedics sent the injured man to the Farwaniya hospital for medical care. The other fighter was later referred to the concerned authority.

Syrians beat Afghan: An Afghani national was seriously injured with an additional fracture to his left hand when he engaged in a fight with two Syrian brothers.
Following a distress call a passerby had placed to the Operations Room to notify them about the incident, paramedics arrived at the location to carry the injured man to the Farwaniya hospital for medical care, while the Syrians were taken into custody by securitymen. A case was registered against them.

Asian expat assaulted: An Asian expatriate in his late 30s sustained severe injuries in different parts of the body when three juveniles assaulted him in Sabah Al-Nasser area.
According to sources, securitymen and paramedics were prompt to the scene to assist the situation when a passerby reported the incident to the Operations Room. Paramedics carried the victim to the Farwaniya hospital for treatment. Sources noted the culprits fled the scene at the sight of police. The case was registered.
