Citizen boasts ownership of 25 cars, arrested for stealing them KD 15,000 stolen from firm; Iranian held for KD 120,000 dud cheque

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: Police from the Capital Governorate have arrested a Kuwaiti man, believed to be in his 40s, for stealing 25 cars, reports Al-Dar daily.
The man was arrested after an Egyptian who was shopping in downtown Kuwait City with his family filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified person of stealing his car which was parked in front of a shopping center.
After the complaint was filed, police began looking for the car and found it parked in front of a house in Farwaniya.
During investigation police discovered all the 25 cars, which were in front of the man’s house, had been reported stolen.
According to the neighbors, the man boasted of owning the cars and caused a lot of inconvenience to people living nearby in addition to traffic congestion.
However, according to the man’s colleagues and the neighbors the man is suffering from psychological problems. The man has been referred to the concerned authorities.

Dud cheque for KD 120,000: An unidentified Iranian man who went to the Daiya Police Station to report the lost of his passport was arrested by the officer and put behind bars for issuing a dud cheque for KD 120,000, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily did not give more details.

KD 15,000 stolen from firm: Police are looking for unidentified thieves who alleged broke into a company in Shuwaikh and stole KD 15,000, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources, the employees discovered the theft when they came to work in the morning.
The employees told police papers were scattered all over the place and they soon informed the owner of the company. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identity the thieves.

Woman sues investment firm: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a case at a police station in the Capital governorate against an investment company, reports Al-Anba daily.
The woman in her complaint said she invested KD 22,000 into the company but the company failed to pay her dividends.
She added when she checked with the company she was told the company had incurred losses.

Man held for financial crime: The Ahmadi police have arrested a 25-year-old citizen who was wanted by law to serve a sentence for failing to pay KD 2,475 to an unidentified person, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Police while driving along a road in Fahaheel arrested the man. He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
