Kuwaiti seeks custody of kids with Indian wife Hussein, father get death threats

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: The family of the handicapped Kuwaiti man, identified as Jawad Hussein has appealed to the First Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Al-Sabah to take appropriate measures to ensure the return of the man’s three children to Kuwait, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

According to the daily the children left for India with their Indian mother when the latter’s father was ill and is now refusing to return to Kuwait in spite of several requests from the family of her husband.
The children’s grandfather (Ab-dulRazzak Jawad Hussein) told the Al-Watan Arabic daily that in 1999 his son married an Indian woman after Kuwaiti and Arab women refused to marry him because he is a person with special need and was blessed with four children.

He went on to say in 2008 the woman who was pregnant with her fourth baby left for India with two children Shahad and Mahdi and gave birth to Nour, in India.
(The elder daughter lives with the father in Kuwait).

The man said every time the husband contacted her and told her to return to Kuwait she kept on giving excuses although the man has been sending her money regularly.

AbdulRazzak added he then tried in vain to seek help of Kuwait’s ambassador to India, and traveled to India, Hyderabad, with his son in a last ditch effort to bring the children and wife to Kuwait but was unable to do so because their passports have expired and the newborn has no Kuwaiti passport.
He added an official from the Kuwait embassy accompanied them to Hyderabad, the woman’s hometown, but they had to return when they received death threats through letters “asking us to return to Kuwait”.
