Young Lankan woman attempts suicide

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: A 25-year-old Sri Lankan woman tried to commit suicide by swallowing a large quantity of medicine in Hawally recently.
Securitymen and medical emergency personnel rushed to the location right after receiving information on the incident.  They referred the woman to Adan Hospital.
Investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances that prompted the woman to try to end her own life.

Junkyard store looted: Police are looking for unidentified persons for breaking into a store at the Amghara Scrapyard, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to the owner of the store (a Kuwaiti), the suspects escaped with goods worth KD 32,000 including electrical appliances. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.

Al-Husseinan, aka Abu-Zeid in Kuwait, was imam and preacher working for the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs before he left for Afghanistan two years ago to fight a holy war.
