Municipality staffer caught selling ‘medically-fit’ certificates GCC national in drug trafficking

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: Police have arrested an unidentified employee of the Kuwait Municipality for forging and selling medically ‘Fit’ Ministry of Health certificates for KD 25 to the expatriates, reports Al-Rai daily.
It has been reported the suspect has an accomplice and police are now looking for him. The daily did not say where the accomplice is working. At the time of the arrest police said the suspect was in possession of 50 certificates.

GCC national in drug trafficking : Officers of the Directorate General for Drug Control (DGDC) arrested a GCC national for trafficking in drugs and seized 500 grams of heroin and 1,750 narcotic pills from him in Sulaibikhat area.
Acting on a tip-off, officials reportedly set up a trap and one of them persuaded the suspect to sell 15 grams of heroin to him. During the transaction, securitymen swooped on the suspect and arrested him. The trafficker then led police to his various drug hiding places within his house. He also admitted that he had the support of smugglers serving time in the Central Jail.
Meanwhile, Customs officers at the Shuwaikh Port have arrested an unidentified Iranian man for attempting to smuggle 400 narcotic pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting security sources said the man arrived into the country aboard a ship from Iran.
According to the same sources the Iranian appeared confused when he approached the inspection desk and the alert inspectors found the pills hidden in secret compartments in one of his bags.

Syrian threatened: A Syrian man has filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station accusing an unidentified Egyptian legal advisor of threatening to kill him and forcing him to sign promissory notes, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Syrian, an employee of an unidentified company resigned from his job and demanded the company to pay his end of service indemnity, the matter which upset the employer.
The employer reportedly told the Syrian to contact the Egyptian counselor working for a legal affairs company. The complainant was shocked when some employees and the counselor compelled him to sign promissory notes for KD 25,000.

Kuwaitis robbed in Egypt: Five Kuw-aitis studying at an university in Cairo said some Egyptians broke into their villa in the ‘Tenth of Ramadan City’ tied their feet and hands behind their backs and stole $1,200, 1,400 Egyptian pounds, nine cell phones and two laptop computers, reports Al-Rai daily.The students added they complained to the Kuwaiti Embassy in Egypt but to no avail.

3 held for drugs: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested three people for trafficking in drugs and alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
A security source said police acting on information set a trap for the two men and caught them red-handed in possession with 20 bottles of alcohol and a quantity of marijuana.
The arrest came in Salmiya and during interrogation the men admitted to the charge and police the name of their accomplice.
The latter was arrested inside a café in Khaitan. Police are said to have seized from the man three fingers of hashish.
The men have been referred to the Anti Drugs Control Department.
