‘Amend the curricula to match latest education developments’ ‘Evaluation must be done every five years’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: The Ministry of Education should amend the schools curricula to match the latest developments in the educational sector around the world, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting former education minister and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Cairo Dr Rasheed Al-Hammad.

Emphasizing the need to study the proposed changes to the curricula, Al-Hammad recommended the evaluation of the curricula every five years to be in line with the latest developments in the international community, especially since the educational policies of various countries change from time to time.
Stressing the importance of developing the educational sector through the coordinated efforts of experts in this field, Al-Hammad asserted the cultural attaché at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Egypt remains committed to the decision taken by the higher education minister on the university that was approved recently. He also confirmed the distribution of students, who have been granted scholarship, according to their fields of specialization.

On the plight of students enrolled in universities whose accreditation has been cancelled, Al-Hammad clarified the students will continue their studies in these universities and their certificates will be authenticated by the ministry, since they registered prior to the cancellation of the universities’ accreditation.
