Expatriates angry

Expatriates from six countries — Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq — have expressed their resentment because of the ‘behavior’ of the Interior Ministry, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Some expatriates who visited the daily said they paid KD 220 each to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to transfer their visit visas into work permits but the Interior Ministry is said to have rejected their applications for security reasons.

However, they say they have also lost their money because the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor is refusing to refund the money.
The expatriates say if they pose a security threat to the nation why in the first place they were allowed to enter the country.

Meanwhile, in other news the daily says one of the expatriates — a Syrian identified as Khalil Mahmoud who works as manager of a company and is paid KD 2,500 salary a month — had his visit visa application for his mother turned down.

Non-sensePhoenix | 8/18/2010 9:39:57 AM Totally non-sense. I would surely agree that if they were a security threat why were they issued visit visa in the first place?
