Man suspected of killing his wife

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: A 30-year old Asian expatriate succumbed to severe injury he sustained to the head after a speeding motorist knocked him down along the Gulf Street, opposite Sharq. Sources said the victim died shortly after he had been referred to the Amiri hospital by paramedics. The case was registered.
In another incident, a Syrian woman, a Kuwaiti citizen, and an Asian expatriate sustained various degrees of injuries when their vehicles collided on Jahra Motorway.
Based on information received by the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry in that regard, paramedics accompanied security operatives to the scene and they carried the injured people to Jahra hospital for treatment.
Sources said the accident led to traffic jam. However, traffic officers were on hand to assist the situation, and traffic was restored.
In yet another incident, an Indian national and a Kuwaiti citizen were injured in different parts of their bodies when their car crashed into a concrete barricade.
The injured people were sent to the Farwaniya hospital by paramedics for medical care.
And, an Asian expatriate was transferred to the Jahra hospital for treatment, after his car smashed into another car on the Fourth Ring Road, opposite Amghara.

Foul play seen: A Kuwaiti man referred the remains of his wife to the Jahra Hospital. Apparently, the man had assaulted and suffocated the woman to death, before carrying the body to the hospital.
According to sources, there were bruises on the deceased woman, which aroused suspicion of the doctors. It was obvious the man had strangled the wife with his bare hands, which made it a murder case. Therefore, the doctors called securitymen immediately, and the husband was referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Preliminary investigation indicated the incident had taken place after a minor family conflict. Police have since open the case for investigation.

Cell phone hysteria: A Kuwaiti woman, 20, lodged a complaint at a police station, saying her cell phone has been stolen, reports Al-Anba daily.
The woman was crying hysterically and asked police to restore her phone quickly because she feared her photos, which were stored in the device, might be misused for creating a scandal.

Miraculous escape
: A Kuw-aiti man miraculously escaped from a fire which ravaged his livestock pen in Kabad, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Reportedly, the man set fire in a small area to get rid of rats, but the fire spread rapidly and soon went out of control.
Acting on information, firefighters rushed to the place and extinguished the fire.
