Two Bedoun brothers implicated in Jleeb exchange armed robbery

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), under the leadership of Director Major General Ali Al-Yusuf, have arrested two Bedoun brothers, aged 18 and 30, implicated in the armed robbery at a money exchange center in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh two days ago.
It has been reported the thieves carted away with KD 45,000 and fired at the cashier before fleeing to an unknown destination.

The discovery of the get-away vehicle used during the robbery in Sulaibiya led to the arrest of the suspects but the officers have yet to find the stolen money and the weapons. The suspects denied the charges and investigations are still going on.

Sources said the CID formed a team of officers, who checked traffic cameras and tracked the telephone numbers used during the robbery, until they found one of the brothers who recently got out of jail after serving time for a similar offense. The other suspect was arrested in their house in Sulaibiya.
During the interrogation, the suspects refused to divulge the whereabouts of the stolen money and the weapons used in the crime, so the Ministry of Interior has not issued any statement in this regard. Sources confirmed the ministry will release an official statement as soon as the weapons and stolen money are recovered.

Sources added eight unidentified men have also been arrested for their alleged involvement in robbery cases. They have been referred to the concerned security department for interrogation and other necessary legal action.
Sources stressed the security authorities have continued to exert tremendous efforts to track down criminals to ensure public safety.
