Man just out of jail stabs wife Teen hurt in fight
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 11: A Kuwaiti citizen is said to have stabbed his wife three times in the neck, as he returned from jail Wednesday, and escaped. The wife is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jahra hospital, in critical condition.
According to sources, the suspect had once set his family home ablaze, and shot a family member. Sources noted the suspect’s relatives have become fed up with the insensible behavior, urging the Ministry of Interior to put an end to his criminal activities. In the meantime, police are on the lookout for the suspect, while a case has been registered against him.
Teen hurt in fight: An 18-year-old Kuwaiti sustained multiple injuries after engaging in a fistfight with two teenaged compatriots in front of a cooperative society in Reggae Wednesday.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operation Room received information on the fight. They referred the injured to Adan Hospital, while the other teenagers were taken to a nearby police station for questioning.
Swindler nabbed: Securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti wanted for his involvement in a financial case in which he was accused of duping an unidentified person to the tune of KD 6,000.
While on routine duty in Reggae, the securitymen asked the citizen to pull over for inspection. When he checked his security records, they discovered he is wanted by law for swindling an unidentified person. He was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Handbag missing: Thieves stole a handbag belonging to a Kuwaiti woman in her 30s, after she allegedly left the bag inside a restaurant at a famous commercial complex in Sharq. In her complaint to police officers, the woman narrated she forgot to take the handbag, which she had placed on a table inside the restaurant, and noted the bag contained KD 120 cash, a mobile phone and bank cards. Police have registered the case for investigation.
Fireman hurt on duty: Fire recently engulfed a small house in Bneid Al-Gar, resulting in eye injuries to a 36-year-old firefighter.
Securitymen, medical emergency personnel and firefighters rushed to the location after receiving information on the fire. During the fire control operation, a fireman got eye injuries when some unidentified particles entered his eyes. He was referred to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed the cause of fire was electric short circuit. No other casualties or injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, fire broke out in a house in Ardiya recently, causing shortness of breath to a 25-year-old fireman.
Firefighters, paramedics and securitymen rushed to the location after the Operations Room received information on the inferno in Ardiya. The rescuers successfully evacuated the house, while the firemen extinguished the fire before it spread to adjacent structures. During the fire-out operation, one of the firemen had difficulty in breathing due to the thick smoke surrounding the area. He was taken to Farwaniya Hospital. A case was registered and investigations are underway to determine the actual cause of fire.
40 cases lost: The Kuwait Municipality is said to have lost about 40 lawsuits which were filed against it by people who had invested in shops in Abu Fatira, reports Al-Rai daily quoting knowledgeable sources. The daily did not give more details.
Cable thieves held: The Jahra police have arrested two Iranians for stealing electrical copper cables and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the Iranians were caught red-handed while driving in a van with their loot.
