Foul play suspected in ‘suicide’
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: An Asian domestic worker committed suicide by cutting his neck in his room inside his sponsor’s house in Oyoun. Sources say the man used a sharp blade for the job.
Preliminary investigations affirmed that it was a suicide, but police are investigating to find the motive behind such a manner of suicide. The man’s remains have been referred to Forensics.
Maid stabs self: A 35-year-old Indonesian housemaid tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself several times inside her sponsor’s home in Qadsiya. According to security sources, an Indian co-worker at the house endeavored to stop the Indonesian when she decided to stab herself. However, she reportedly bit the Indian and proceeded to hurt herself.
In the meantime, paramedics accompanying securitymen to the scene rushed the maid to the Amiri Hospital, and she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. A case was registered against her.
Drugs, phones seized: Operatives from the Central Jail seized 14 narcotic pills, 4 fingers of hashish, another gram of hashish and 11 mobile phones during an inspection campaign inside the prison’s cells.
The officers acted on information they received about smuggling activities taking place there, and the contraband was uncovered during the search. The culprits have since been referred for investigation.
Bangladeshi beaten: Security operatives and paramedics rushed to a famous shopping complex in Fahaheel to maintain order, after the Operations Room had been notified about a fight between a Bangladeshi national and an Indian expatriate. Paramedics referred the 37-year-old Bangladeshi, who sustained severe injury during the fight, to the Adan Hospital for treatment. The Indian is said to have fled the scene at the sight of police. The case has been registered for investigation.
Generators stolen: Police patrols on routine duty arrested two Bedouns in possession of three stolen generators worth KD 1,200 in Kabad area on Saturday.
Sources say the Bedouns got nervous when the patrols asked details about the generators and eventually admitted that they stole them from a livestock pen in the area. Both men were referred to the police station along with the generators.
Sons missing: A Kuwaiti man, 41, filed a police complaint in Ardiya, saying his two minor sons left home after a disagreement with him two days ago and haven’t returned ever since. The concerned father said the sons’ mobile phones are switched off and that he searched for them at all their relatives and friends’ houses to no avail. Securitymen noted down the details and description of the boys and circulated them to all checkpoints.
