Egypt apprehends three Kuwaitis for trespassing, illegally hunting gazelle Kuwaiti living in Iran to give up nationality

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: The Egyptian security authorities in cooperation with the Red Sea Protectorate have arrested five people - three Kuwaitis and two Egyptians — for illegally intruding into the so-called Jaml Wadi (Valley of Camels) to hunt gazelles, reports Al-Anba daily.

The Kuwaitis are believed to a Kuwaiti officer, his brother and his son. The Egyptians are unidentified.
According to investigations conducted by Consultant Islam Haneaif, director of Al-Qaseer Prosecution, the Kuwaitis entered the Wadi via a desert to hunt wild animals, particularly gazelles. Gazelles in Egypt are believed to be and many other wild animals are on the list of endangered species.
The Egyptian daily Al-Masri Today said the security authorities in cooperation with the protectorate of the governorate caught the suspects red-handed. They were carrying automatic weapons and two Jeeps fully equipped with hunting gear.

The weapons and the Jeeps have been impounded and a travel ban has been imposed on the Kuwaitis until investigations are complete.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Prosecution has fined a Kuwaiti man $10,000 and sent him to police custody for four days for allegedly possessing drug pills, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports, the security authorities at a airport in Egypt caught the man, identified only as MF with 36,900 drug pills. The pills were reportedly neatly hidden in a secret compartment of his baggage. The man has been referred for interrogation.

Kuwaiti to give up …
: Kuwaiti Hassan Abdullah Al-Khabbaz who currently resides in Tehran is said to have offered to relinquish his Kuwaiti nationality and has applied to the Iranian authorities to give him the Iranian nationality, reports Al-Rai daily.
It has been reported Al-Khabbaz is an ex-convict and he has spent time behind bars for consuming and trafficking in drugs in 2001.
However, the Iranian authorities are said to have officially written to the Kuwaiti authorities concerning the request before the nationality can be granted to the man.
