Man abducts, detains ex-wife in house Jordanian teen assaults cops
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: An unidentified man allegedly abducted his wife while she was walking in Farwaniya and detained her inside their house for some time, as she had earlier left him and lived with her family, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting sources.
Sources disclosed the husband has previously filed a missing person report on his wife at the police station, but when the officers conducted investigations they discovered she was living with her family. During interrogation, the woman told police she left her husband due to his bad behavior.
It has been reported that when the wife went out of the station after the interrogation, her husband kidnapped her and detained her in their house. Her relatives then sought the assistance of police who raided the couple’s house and rescued her.
In an unrelated incident, police have arrested a 19-year-old Jordanian for assaulting security officers from the Hawally Security Directorate in front of a commercial complex in Jahra, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the tinted windows of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver to pull over as this is against the law. When they were about to issue a citation to the driver, police discovered he has no driving license and civil ID. They guided him towards the patrol vehicle but he resisted and assaulted one of them. The officers had to call for backup from their colleagues as the teenager tried to evade arrest. He allegedly threatened to take certain action against them saying, “I will obtain the Kuwaiti citizenship soon because my mother is a Kuwaiti. You cannot touch me, even if there were ten of you.”
A case was registered against the teenager at Al-Salam Police Station.
