3 Kuwait-Russia panels set up to boost trade relations Sheikh Ahmad returns home after joint meetings KUWAIT, Aug 6, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah has arrived back to Kuwait following his official visits to Malaysia and Russia.
Speaking to KUNA upon arrival back from Russia, where he was to attend joint committee meetings, the Kuwaiti minister, who also doubles as Minister of Oil, said the meetings had focused on a set of bilateral trade, investment, oil, energy and technological issues.
He said three Kuwaiti-Russian committees are to be set up in the fields of investment, trade, technology, culture, oil and energy, adding that Kuwait’s members of the joint committees have already been sent to the Russian side.
The minister noted that the joint committees could convene within a couple of months’ time.
During his stay in Russia, he said he had discussed preparations for a planned visit by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait to Russia, adding that a date for the visit would be set in coming weeks.
He pointed out that he had invited the Russian minister of energy to visit Kuwait in November.
Concerning his visit to Malaysia, the Kuwaiti minister said he had represented HH the Amir in the inauguration of “Treasure of the World” exhibition in Malaysia.
He said that also during his stay in Malaysia he had met the ministers of foreign affairs, planning and development on bilateral relations.
