KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: Security operatives from the Immigration General Department received information about an officer who obtained 17 residency permits for Asians and an Arab expatriate to sell it for KD 900 and KD 1,000 respectively, under the sponsorship of six males and a female from the same family, without keeping files in that concern.
According to sources, the officer in question has reportedly disappeared. Also, detectives uncovered that 63 sons and daughters were registered in their father’s name, and he holds dual-citizenship. A three-year jail term had been issued against him for forgery related cases.
Meanwhile, police have referred the individuals in whose names the residency permits were registered, plus the beneficiaries for investigation. The beneficiaries confessed to paying money for their residency visas. Sources confirmed that father of the family has as well disappeared, but police is on the look out for the two suspects.

Scribe sues Juwaihel: Journalist Nasser Al-Huseini has filed a libel case against the owner of Al-Soor Channel, Mohammad Al-Juwaihel, who allegedly maligned him and his family in one of the channel’s programs. In misdemeanor case Number 313/2010, the journalist claimed Al-Juwaihel has verbally abused him and his family in the ‘Al-Saraya’ show.  He has provided the investigators with a CD recording of the program to substantiate his claim. The investigators will summon Al-Juwaihel soon for questioning.

Gang fight in mall: An Egyptian expatriate sustained serious injury when he engaged in a fight with five other individuals in Souk Sharq. Securitymen accompanied paramedics to the scene when a distress call was placed to the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry in that regard, and paramedics referred the injured man, who was lying in a pool of blood to the Amiri Hospital for treatment, while the rest of the feuding party was arrested. The case was registered.
