Asian maid blamed for killing infant

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: An unidentified Asian housemaid has been arrested by police for allegedly beating to death a two-month-old Kuwaiti baby boy, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to a complaint filed by the victim’s parents, when they arrived home the baby had difficulty in breathing so they rushed the toddler to a nearby clinic.
As the doctor tried to save the life of the boy, she noticed blood clot marks on the baby’s head and informed the parents.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department were summoned and the baby was referred to the Forensics Medicine Department. A report showed the death was caused due to battering on the head.
However, the maid is said to have denied the allegation. Police are still interrogating the maid.

Father stabbed: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti youth for stabbing his father in the hand inside the family Diwaniya in Riqqa, reports Al-Shahed daily.
 ources said police and paramedics acting on information rushed to the spot and rushed the bleeding man to the Adan Hospital.
When police arrived the suspect, armed with a knife, was standing beside his father who was lying on the ground. He was also under the influence of alcohol.
The daily did not say why the son stabbed his father. Police are interrogating the son.

Foodstuff stolen: The border security police have arrested a number of Asian laborers for stealing food stuff and detergent from the Interior Ministry’s Radiefa Center, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports when the personnel from the Center discovered the theft, they informed the concerned security authorities and the place was put under surveillance.
When the laborers were caught red-handed they admitted to stealing the stuff and selling it to Syrian trailer truck drivers. However, during interrogation the drivers have denied knowledge that the foodstuffs they bought from the laborers were stolen. Police investigations are continuing.

‘Royal’s’ car snatched:
Police are looking for two unidentified youths for ‘stealing’ the car of a female member of the Al-Sabah ruling family, reports Al-Dar daily. According to security sources this happened when the youths wearing sports clothes hit the car of the Sheikha from the rear near the Sheraton Roundabout.
As the Sheikha got down from her vehicle to check the damage to her car, the youth who was in the passenger seat got into the vehicle of the Sheikha and drove off.
And the other youth drove off with his car. When police were informed about the incident, they discovered the youths were driving a stolen car.
The Sheikha’s car was found abandoned in an open place at an unidentified location.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
