‘I’ve killed my wife Liquor, drug traders caught

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: Security operatives apprehended a Bedoun peddling in liquor, after the Director General of the Anti-drug General Department received information about his activities and ordered detectives to bring him to justice.
Security sources said a team of detectives was formed to follow up the suspect, whereas an undercover agent managed to reach a deal with him to sell two bottles of liquor for KD 70.
The suspect was arrested upon delivery of the contraband, after he had been paid with marked currency. The officers went ahead to search inside his flat in Hawalli and found unspecified bottles of liquor and KD 1,000 cash. He has since been referred to the Public Prosecution.

‘I’ve killed my wife’: A Kuwaiti citizen who alarmed securitymen in Jahra about killing his wife was found to be drunk when police rushed to the scene and discovered bottles of imported drinks inside his car. The officers noticed he was heavily intoxicated while they interrogated him. The man was sent to the concerned authority for necessary action.

Duo held with drugs: A security team from the Operation and Patrols Management Department at the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Security Directorate has arrested two Kuwaitis for the possession of a bag, containing an undisclosed quantity of heroin, hashish, drug paraphernalia and 51 narcotic pills, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Interior Wednesday.
The team carried out a security campaign in the governorate recently, leading to the arrest of the two Kuwaitis in Sabah Al-Salam. It has been reported one of the citizens is wanted by law for his involvement in a drug-related case.
During the campaign, the team also arrested two Kuwaitis wanted by law for their involvement in a number of criminal and civil cases in Mubarak Al-Kabeer.
The team referred the four Kuwaitis to the concerned security department for prosecution.

Indian in suicide bid: A 30-year-old Indian tried to commit suicide by cutting his throat in Al-Wafra Tuesday.
Securitymen and medical emergency personnel rushed to the location immediately after the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior received information on the incident. They referred the Indian, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, to Adan Hospital.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances that prompted the Indian to try to end his own life.

Cash stolen from home: A Kuwaiti has lodged a complaint against unidentified persons, who allegedly stole KD 15,000 cash from his house in Nahda.
The Kuwaiti told police he and his family were surprised when they returned home as the door of their house was broken. To their dismay, they discovered the thieves took cash amounting to KD 15,000. Criminal Evidence Department personnel later lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.

Mom, kid suffer burns
: A three-year-old Syrian toddler and his mother sustained first and second degree burns respectively, when fire engulfed their apartment inside a building in Salmiya.
Eyewitnesses placed a distress call to rescue officers at the Operations Room, while firefighters and paramedics moved in to handle the operation.
Upon arrival, the rescuers discovered the toddler and his mother were trapped inside the apartment, and they were evacuated.
Paramedics rushed them to the Mubarak Hospital for medical attention, as the firefighters extinguished the blaze. Preliminary investigation indicated the fire was caused by a short circuit.
