Visit visa ban to curb begging in Ramadan

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The Minister of Interior has issued a decision to ban the issuance of visit visas to people of certain nationalities from Arab countries, reports Al-Shahed daily.
This is done to curb the phenomenon of begging in the country during the holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, police have arrested six Asian men for drinking and gambling inside an apartment in Fintas, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information from residents of the building raided the apartment and caught the men red-handed.
Police investigations show the men had rented the apartment only for gambling and drinking purposes.
It has been reported they were also entertaining other men to indulge in the illegal activity.
In another development, An unidentified Egyptian bone doctor working at the Farwaniya Hospital has been taken into custody for issuing false reports to patients, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
It has also been reported the doctor was prescribing expensive medicines to patients who are not suffering from a particular disease in addition to forcing female doctors to work on male patients. The daily did not give more details.
And, personnel from the Sentences Enforcement Department have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti employee of an unidentified bank who had been sentenced in absentia in connection with a KD 7,000 ‘fraud’, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information set a trap for the man and caught him as soon as he left his workplace. The employee has been referred for investigation.
