KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The Ministry of Communications is expected to announce next week the reduction of call tariffs among GCC nations, reports Al-Anba daily quoting Assistant Undersecretary for Finance and Planning Sectors Dr Walid Al-Najar.

Meanwhile, sources disclosed the decision also includes the amendment of the system for charging calls from minutes to seconds. They said the decision was finalized in the recently-concluded GCC Ministries of Communication, Postal and Telecommunications Conference in Kuwait, affirming it will take effect right after the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. They added three telecommunication companies will be notified immediately for compliance.
