Sheikh Ahmad forms committee for listing unexploited lands in Kuwait KOC asked to end Al-Qairawan area problem

KUWAIT, Aug 4, (KUNA): Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Development Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a ministerial decision on forming a committee for listing unexploited lands in residential and non-residential areas of the country.
A statement made by the media bureau of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad said today that the committee — which is made up of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), Kuwait Municipality and Department of the State Domains at the Ministry of Finance — aims at determining and listing all unexploited empty lands whether in the residential areas or outside them to help construct utilities the serve the community development.
The statement added that Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad hailed the efforts and cooperation of the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and the Minister of Finance for their invaluable contribution to facilitating the committee’s work.

It also noted that Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad called on Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to hold a meeting with the concerned committee to put an end to the Al-Qairawan area file because of stopping of distributing 370 plots of land due to the existence of oil tracks in these plots.
The statement pointed out that Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad issued his instructions for finalizing this file in order to serve citizens and achieve the state development goals, particularly as the area includes 370 plots of land that would be distributed according to the designer plan provided that the PAHW hands them over to the deserved owners as soon as possible.

In the same vein, the statement pointed out that head of the committee Sobhy Al-Malla announced the receiving of the plots of land in Al-Nasseim area which amount to 696 plots with an area of 500 square metres for each plot, adding that work is currently underway for preparing the infrastructure of the site.
He added that these plots of land would be distributed according to the designer plan as part of a proposed mechanism, pointing out that Al-Nasseim area was originally planned by the Kuwait municipality, then transferred from a a state domain to the PAHW.
Finally, Al-Malla said that the plots of land of Al-Khairan area were received and they are ready for distribution by the Ministry of Public Works with its designer plans are being prepared to start distributing them to the applicant citizens, making clear that the area of each plot amounts to 600 square metres in line with the blueprint of Al-Khairan area.
