KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: The Filipino Badminton Association in Ahmadi (FBAA) inaugurated a two-day tournament — “Secretary’s Cup” — at the Fahaheel Sports Center, Friday.
The event involves a single set with running score of 61 points in all levels: Men’s A, Ladies A, Men’s B, Men’s C and Ladies Higher A and Men’s Lower C and Ladies B.
Each class has been divided into different colors with an average point system being applied : the number of points collected divided by the number of matches played to determine the best color group.
Meanwhile,the individual point average is also being calculated in each category. This week Tony Osea topped Men’s A with an average of 34, while in Men’s B Marvin De Luna led with 38.80, in Men’s C and Ladies Higher A James Blaz with 41.40, Mary Grace del Leon reign so far in Men’s Lower C and Ladies B with 37.20, and Glorence Montesclaros was in the driver’s seat in Ladies A with 36.40.
Men’s A
Purple vs Blue
Purple beat Blue by 192-174 points after Carlo Bornilla and William Naoe edged Rowx Bugas and Joshua Lagran 33-28, Ronald Margate and Jyotish PG outlasted Dave Laguio and Emil Millanar 32-29, Carlo and Jyotish edged Rowx and Emil 32-29 and William with Ronald hammered Joshua and Dave 37-24.
Meanwhile, Blue team won two games as Rowx and Dave edged Carlo and Ronald 32-29 while Dave and Joshua outlasted William and Jyotish 32-29.
Green vs Yellow
Green won 184-182 points against Yellow as Joms Tantiangco and Tony Osea outlasted Edgar Antonio and JP Parayno 33-28, Sherwin Felizardo and Joms edged Albert Marcelo and Edgar 32-29, Gaurav Joshi and Tony tamed Vasu and JP 31-30 and Sherwin and Tony beat Marcelo and Parayno 34-27.
Yellow won when Albert Marcelo and Vasu edged Sherwin Felizardo and Gaurav Joshi 31-30 and Vasu and Edgar Antonio crushed Gaurav and Joms 37-24.
Green vs Blue
Green scored 134-110 points against Blue after Joms and Tony hammered Dave and Emil 35-26, Sherwin and Joms outlasted Rowx and Dave 33-28 and Gaurav and Tony overwhelmed Joshua and Emil 37-24.
Blue won when Rowx and Joshua outlasted Sherwin and Gaurav 32-29 while two other games were rescheduled for next week.
Purple vs Red
Purple gained 137-107 points against Red as Carlo Bornilla and William Naoe 37-24, Ronald Margate and Jyotish PG routed Allan Bondoc and Gerry Labagnoy 39-22 and Carlo and Jyotish overcame Forp Alonzo and Gerry 36-25.
Two games were rescheduled for next week while Red team won once when Nikka Mae and Allan Bondoc who brushed aside William Naoe and Ronald Margate 36-25.
On the other hand, the games between Yellow and Red will be played next week.

Yellow saw Roma outlast Roy and Tony 32-29, Adrian and Roma thump Joel and Tony 39-22 and Adrian and Friday edge Joel and Roy 32-29.
Orange vs Black
Orange crushed Black by 208-158 points after Mark and Ryan tamed July and Kenjie 39-22, Prasanth and Claire overwhelmed Ben and Sang 37-24, Mark and Prasanth thrashed July and Ben 39-22, Ryan and Claire edged Kenjie and Sang 31-30 and Ryan and Prasanth thumped Kenjie and Ben 36-25.
Black won one game when July and Sang thumped Mark and Claire 35-26.

Gray completed a 134-110 landslide victory over Yellow with 2 other games pending as Arjay and Arnold edged Janette and Roma 32-29, Gene and Dianne overcame Friday and Roma 34-27, Arjay and Gene outlasted Janette and Friday 32-29 and the tandem of Arnold and Dianne overpowered Friday and Roma 36-25.
Black vs Green
Black scored 169-136 points against Green team after July and Kenjie tamed Mokbul and Anthony 34-27, Ben and Sang thrashed Noel and Hans 41-20, Kenjie and Sang outlasted Anthony and Hans 32-29 and July and Sang edged Mokbul and Hans 33-28.
Green walked home with a single victory after Noel and Anthony outlasted July and Ben 32-29 with one pending game.
Blue vs Red

Orange collected 140-104 points against Blue with 2 more games to play next week. Orange won when James and Cesar overwhelmed Benedict and Cathy 39-22, Keisha and Allen outlasted Eric and Keith 32-29 and James with Keisha thumped Benedict and Eric 39-22.
For Blue, Cathy and Keith edged Cesar and Allen 31-30.
Purple vs Yellow
Purple won 123-121 against Yellow as Roger and Bill overcame Franklin and Lito 34-27, while Aldrin and Roger outlasted Dino and Franklin 32-29 and Rochelle with Bill tamed Majed and Lito 33-28.

Yellow did not go home empty handed when Dino and Majed worked well to thump Aldrin and Rochelle 37-24 but two games were scheduled to be played on Friday.

Due to limited time available three matches between Yellow and Purple were rescheduled for Friday but Yellow still collected 100-83 points against Purple as Dodi and Ell outlasted Marc Joy and Marivic 31-30 while Tanette and Cherry wasted no effort to thrash Gren and Belinda 41-20.
Purple did not go home empty handed as the tandem of Marc Joy and Gren edged Dodi and Tanette 33-28.

Revy and Yollanda shared the top spot with Marg and Mary Jane when both the tandems collected 3 wins and 9 points.
