Co-op staff beaten by Egyptian over Vimto bottles Elderly Kuwaiti in liquor trade

KUWAIT CITY, July 31: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti, in his 60s, for trading in alcohol, drugs, and personifying securitymen in Sabah Al-Salem.
Acting on a tip-off, the securitymen raided the house of the accused, who once served two jail terms for his involvement in drug-related cases.  The officers found 200 narcotic pills and an undisclosed quantity of locally brewed alcohol in the suspect’s house.  They also arrested the suspect’s brother who is wanted by law for his involvement in a number of civil crimes.
The brothers were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

Co-op staff beaten: An employee at the Farwaniya Cooperative Society sustained injuries in different parts of his body after an Egyptian customer beat him when he refused to give the latter more than four bottles of Vimto, reports Al-Anba daily.
Securitymen rushed to the cooperative society after receiving information on the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed the Egyptian came to purchase a carton of Vimto for Ramadan but the employee refused to give him more than four bottles allegedly due to shortage of supply. However, the Egyptian was infuriated when he saw the employee handing a carton of Vimto to a Kuwaiti, so he attacked the employee.
A case was registered and the Egyptian was referred to a nearby police station for the necessary legal action.

Illegals held: Ahmadi securitymen launched an intensive campaign in Fahaheel area and arrested 19 people for violating the residence law and two Indians for possessing 10 bottles of local brew, reports Al-Anba daily.
Meanwhile, Farwaniya securitymen arrested an Egyptian expatriate for consuming drugs and recovered three hashish-stuffed cigarettes from him.
All the violators were referred to authorities.

Pakistani robbed: A Pakistani national filed a case against a thief who broke into his vehicle and stole an oxygen pump worth KD 100, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Police have since registered the case for investigation
In another incident, an Indian worker of a mobile phone shop told police officers about thieves who stole two expensive mobile phones from the shop in Sharq. The police have registered the case for investigation.

Arms seized: A Kuwaiti man who was found in possession of an unlicensed rifle with 14 rounds of bullets in Sabah Al-Salem Area was referred to the Criminal Investigations Department, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the daily, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Rescue Patrol Officers on routine patrol had stopped the suspect’s car for checking when they discerned the man was becoming jittery. This prompted them to conduct a thorough check inside his car, and the rifle was discovered.

Youths arrested:
The Ahmadi police have arrested two unidentified youths for possessing six pieces of hashish and 40 drug pills. They were caught in a suburb of Mahboula, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added the suspects were arrested while driving on the coastal road in Mahboula.
The contraband and the suspects have been referred to the Department for Drugs Control.

Cabbie beaten, robbed:
Three persons robbed an Iranian taxi driver of KD 140 at the premises of Jabriya Cooperative Stores. The thieves are said to have attacked the victim before robbing him, and they fled the scene immediately after the operation. Police have started investigations to arrest the suspects.

Woman assaulted: A Kuwaiti woman filed a case at the Rumaithiya Police Station against her estranged Iranian husband who physically assaulted her, in an attempt to kidnap their child. The case has been registered.
