FIFA imposes fine of $400,000 on Qadsiya club

KUWAIT CITY, July 31: Lawyer of Kazma Sports Club Attorney Emad Al-Saif has informed the club’s officials that FIFA has imposed a fine of $400,000 on Qadsiya Sports Club due to the case of Meladeen, a football player who allegedly signed contracts with the two sports clubs, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources.
Sources disclosed FIFA has also prohibited Qadsiya from registering any professional or amateur player in the first and second seasons and suspended Meladeen for four months; hence, he is not allowed to participate in any match within this period.
Commenting on the decision of FIFA, Al-Saif believes this will reflect positively on the demand for compensation forwarded to the Kuwaiti court, which is supposed to decide on the conflicts between the two clubs. He said a press conference will be held soon to shed light on the decision.
On the other hand, lawyer of Qadsiya Sports Club Attorney Fahad Al-Sayar claimed the club was the first to sign a contract with Meladeen.
