Husband thrashes wife, runs away with kids
KUWAIT CITY, July 30: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti, who allegedly beat his wife in their house in Sulaibiya and fled from the scene with their two children.
After receiving a call that a woman was killed by her husband Wednesday, the Jahra Security Directorate dispatched a team of securitymen and paramedics to the location. When the rescue teams arrived at the location, they discovered the woman is still alive and she only lost consciousness due to the severe beating by her husband. They took her to a nearby hospital and she is said to be in a serious condition.
The woman provided police with a detailed description of her husband, copies of which have been distributed to various security check points and departments to expedite procedures for his arrest.
Two women injured: Two Kuwaiti women - aged 22 and 30 years respectively - have been admitted to a hospital with minor injuries, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the women were injured following a traffic accident in the Free Zone area in Shuwaikh. The women were taken to a hospital by paramedics.
Husband insults wife: A Kuwaiti woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Riqqa Police Station accusing her husband of insulting her, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
She added the reason for this was family problems. The husband will be summoned for interrogation.
Power short circuit ‘cause’: Acting on information firemen from the Farwaniya Fire Center rushed to a residential building behind the Tadamon Sports Club and put out fire, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The cause of the fire was electrical short circuit. No casualties have been reported.
Youth held for drug use: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti youth for possessing and consuming heroin, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the youth was caught on suspicion while driving his car in a suburb of Mubarak Al-Kabir governorate.
When police asked the motorist to stop and checked his ID police discovered the youth had been sentenced in absentia to five years imprisonment for committing a crime.
Police have seized the heroin and handed over the youth to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
2 wanted men arrested: Police have arrested two Kuwaitis who were wanted by law in connection with several criminal offences, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to reports the suspects were driving a car with tinted glass on the Arabian Gulf Street and when police ordered the occupants to pull over, they tried in vain to escape.
They have been referred to the authorities.
