Kuwaiti, GCC citizen arrested for selling illusory chalets to people MP’s secretary held for defaming minister, threatening Juwaihel
KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Personnel from the General Department for Criminal Investigation (GDCI) have arrested two men — a Kuwaiti man and a citizen of an unidentified Gulf state - for cheating 60 Kuwaitis and selling them illusory chalets, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added the Director-General of the GDCI acting on information formed a team, set a trap for the men and caught them red-handed.
Most of the cases filed by the victims are against companies for selling them illusory chalets and taking advance payment.
During interrogation the men are said to have admitted to the charge.
MP’s secretary held: Criminal Invest-igations men arrested MP Daifallah Buramiya’s secretary, who also works as a reporter for a local daily, and the latter’s brother for defaming a minister and for threatening the owner of Al-Sour TV channel Mohammed Al-Juwaihel, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to a source, Director General of Criminal Investigations Department Major General Sheikh Ali Al-Yousef received information about the activities of the brothers and he charged Colonel Abdullrahman Al-Jazaf with the task of arresting them.
The daily added that the secretary and his brother denied the accusations.
Man hangs himself: The remains of an unidentified Asian man who allegedly hanged himself to death by tying one end of the rope to the ceiling fan and the other around his neck have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Anba daily.
The incident happened in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
As soon as police received information, paramedics and police rushed to the area and referred the corpse to Forensics. According to the man’s acquaintances, he was suffering from psychological problems.
Meanwhile, the remains of a 27-year-old Kuwaiti woman who died in the intensive care unit of the Adan Hospital have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the woman had been hospitalized for treatment of asphyxiation five days ago when her house in Adan went up in flames.
Women held shoplifting: Two Egyptian women have been arrested by the police for shoplifting, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the women - both 28 years old - were caught hiding foodstuff inside their clothes from a supermarket in Fahaheel.
The same reports said the women were caught red-handed by the CCTV cameras installed by the supermarket.
The daily added, the women were caught and handed over to the Fahaheel police after they left the supermarket without paying for the goods.
During interrogation at a supermarket the women have allegedly admitted to committing the crime.
Delivery in ambulance: When a 31-year-old Iranian pregnant woman went into labor she called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added help was dispatched to the woman who lived in Hawalli, but she delivered the baby inside the ambulance.

Stolen cell phones trade: Police from the Capital governorate have arrested an unidentified Egyptian man for purchasing stolen mobiles from unidentified people, reports Al-Dar daily.
According to reports the suspect works for a mobile phone shop in Sharq and he has been buying the cell phones for a throwaway price without completing legal formalities.
However, when police received the information, a team was formed and the man was caught red-handed.
When police arrested him, he had in his possession five mobile phones which he admitted to buying from different people.
He also told police he was selling these mobiles in Egypt.
