Newborn baby abandoned near sports club in Hawalli

KUWAIT CITY, July 29: A newborn baby was abandoned in front of Qadsiya Club in Hawalli area on Thursday. Acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred the baby to Mubarak Hospital. A case was registered.

Maid hurt fleeing: A Nepalese housemaid, 27, fractured both her legs and suffered various other injuries while trying to escape from the second-floor flat of her abusive sponsor in Andalous area. Sources say the maid tried to climb down using a rope, but it snapped and she fell down. Paramedics referred her to Sabah Hospital for treatment. Sources say the maid’s sponsor used to beat her regularly.

Worker electrocuted: An Egyptian worker was electrocuted while working in a house in Salwa area, say sources, adding he suffered burns on his right hand and bruises on his chest. When the Operations Room received information about the incident, paramedics rushed to the place and referred the man to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.

Drunkard nabbed: Mubarak Al-Kabeer securitymen arrested a 32-year-old Kuwaiti man for consuming alcohol. The man reportedly parked his vehicle on Fahaheel Expressway but stayed inside the car. A passer-by found something amiss and alerted the Operations Room which promptly dispatched securitymen and paramedics to the location. Securitymen noticed that the man was under the influence of alcohol and referred him to authorities.

Fireman burns hand:
A firefighter suffered burns on his hand and was asphyxiated while putting out a fire in a house in Sulaibiya area. Sources say paramedics gave him treatment on the spot.
