Sex workers in Salmiya

KUWAIT CITY, July 28: The Hawalli police have taken into custody 17 people - two pimps and 15 prostitutes during a raid on an apartment in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspects were caught during a security campaign under the guidance of Director-General of Criminal Investigation Department. During the raid police are said to have seized a quantity of medicine pills to induce abortion.
The suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities.

New ID machines eyed: The Interior Ministry is planning to buy latest and technologically advanced caller identity machines from Germany to identify and arrest hoax callers, especially since the current ones are not up to the mark, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Sources say the Operations Room was receiving many hoax calls. Just recently, a caller called the Operations Room and said a fire broke out in Taima area and later it received another call saying someone is drowning in the sea. Securitymen and ambulances were dispatched to both places, only to realize that they were hoax calls.

Drugs seized: In two separate incidents, the customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested two men for attempting to smuggle drugs into the country, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the daily one of the men was carrying 800 Tramadol medicine pills and the other cigarettes filled with heroin in addition to 240 drug pills.
The drugs were found neatly hidden inside their baggage. Without going into more details the daily said the suspects have been referred to the General Department for Drug Control.

Drug trafficker held: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been arrested by police for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports police acting on information raided the man’s house in Mishref and seized from him 320 drug pills and referred him to the General Department for Drug Control.
The pills were found hidden in the closet.

Young sister missing: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been given, has filed a missing persons report on his 23-year-old sister at the Mina Abdullah Police Station, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Without going into details the brother said after she left the house and did not return the family tried to contact her friends but it seems no one knows about her whereabouts.
Initially she refused to answer her cell phone and now she has put the phone off.
The complainant added his sister is suffering from psychological problems.
