Arab expat, female boss held for trafficking in work permits KD 10,000 worth perfumes stolen from store
KUWAIT CITY, July 26: Securitymen arrested an Arab expatriate and his female boss for trading in work permits and referred them to Public Prosecution.
The expatriate reportedly applied for work permits for his clients using the name of a company owned by a woman belonging to a GCC nation.
Sources say when Director General of the General Immigration Department Major General Abdullah Al-Rashed received information about the suspect’s activities, he formed a team which found out that the Arab expatriate applied for four work permits at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and submitted 56 applications to the Ministry of Interior. He was arrested and during investigations, he confessed that he worked for the woman. Incidentally, the woman obtained a commercial license by offering a bribe.
The suspect said another Arab expatriate was also involved in the racket, but he didn’t know the latter’s whereabouts.
A case was registered.
Perfumes stolen: Police are looking for unidentified persons for stealing perfumes worth KD 10,000 from the store belonging to a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The theft occurred in Taima, a suburb of Jahra.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves.
Money stolen for drugs: The Jahra police have arrested two unidentified youths for breaking into cars and stealing valuables and spending the money from proceeds of the sale of stolen goods to buy drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspects were arrested by police after the Director of the Farwaniya Investigation Department Col Mansour Al-Hajri received information on the two youths and put them under surveillance.
It has been reported the suspects were earlier referred for rehabilitation from drug addiction. They were taken into custody from Khaitan.
Rockets found at site: Bomb disposal experts were rushed to the construction site where the Al-Shadadiya University is being built and cordoned off the area after construction workers digging the ground found six projectiles, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The projectiles are believed to be remnants of ordnance left over by the defeated Iraqi forces after they were evicted from Kuwait by the coalition troops.
Iranian teens missing: Police are looking for two Iranian teenagers on whom a missing persons report has been filed by their mother 48 hours ago, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to the complaint filed by the mother, the boys had gone shopping in Jahra and when they did not return home she tried to get in touch with them, but the message said their mobile phones have been switched off.
Kuwaiti man blackmailed: Police are looking for an unidentified person who is said to have stolen the cell phone of a Kuwaiti man and is now blackmailing him, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a complaint filed by the man with the police the thief is demanding KD 500 to return the cell phone.
The thief has allegedly threatened to publish the man’s family photos on a website if he does not get the money. A case has been filed at the Taima Police Station.
Man threatened: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified person of threatening to kill him, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to the complainant he received an overseas call past midnight and the man at the other end made death threats against him. Police are investigating.
Iron rod thieves caught: Police have taken into custody three Asians for stealing iron rods from buildings under construction, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports police acting on complaints filed by owners of construction projects put the suspects under surveillance and caught them red-handed.
During interrogation the men admitted to carrying out thefts in many parts of the country. They have been referred to the authorities.
