‘Give priority to retired Kuwaitis’

KUWAIT CITY, July 24: A number of MPs recently submitted a proposal suggesting the government rethink its earlier decision and make use of the services of retired Kuwaiti employees, reports Al-Anba daily.
The government responded, saying it will consider the suggestion and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued a statement saying retired doctors were exempted from the earlier decision and that they can be re-appointed in government authorities.

Sources say MP Mikhled Al-Azmi was one of the lawmakers who asked the government to give priority to retired Kuwaiti employees.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mudhi Al-Humoud has refused to appoint retired employees as security guards and security supervisors at government schools.
She clarified that retired Kuwaiti employees are not interested in such jobs and moreover, they are not physically fit to hold such jobs.
