KUWAIT CITY, July 24: In coordination with Government Manpower and Restructuring Program (GMRP), the Ministry of Education will float a tender to recruit women security officers in the secondary schools for girls, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources.
The initiative is going to activate the ministry’s control over the schools to curb violations committed in the girls’ schools in particular.

The women security officers will be monitoring the schools premises, whereas the outer walls will be under the supervision of male security guards, sources added, indicating the tender has been forwarded to the concerned authority to pave the way for its floating.

In line with the tender, about 54 women Kuwaiti officers will be assigned to girls’ schools in four educational zones, which include Hawalli, Farwaniya, Jahra and the Capital.
Sources pointed out that applicants for the security job must be between 28-40 years and must hold a secondary education certificate, whereas their monthly salary will be KD 250.

It also stipulates that the women security officers must comply with all instructions issued by the schools’ administration, and notify the administration of any violations against the safety and security of the schools, while informing other concerned security authorities such as the Security Forces, Fire Service Department and the Medical Emergency Department in case of any accidents which may threaten the security and safety of the schools.

In the meantime, sources said a proposal is still under study to generalize the idea and activate it at the intermediate and primary stages.
In another development, sources said the Ministry of Information, in collaboration with the Public Works Ministry, will engage several offices and consultative agencies to identify the appropriate plan for the ministry’s new building in Shuwaikh zone.

Sources confirmed that the project is among the major projects of the state’s development plan to improve the information sector plus services the ministry offers, indicating a number of specialized programs will be activated to control corruption and reinforce the principle of transparency in the society.
Also, the ministry will coordinate with the various ministries to implement the development plan successfully.
