Lankan gang in multiple burglaries; Filipina nabbed Bid to flout ban
KUWAIT CITY, July 22: An unidentified employee of the Nuwaiseeb border post and a Kuwaiti woman have been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports there is a travel ban on the woman and with the help of the employee she was attempting to cross over into Saudi Arabia.
The daily added the officer in charge of the border post acting on information set a trap and caught the woman and the employee red-handed.
A case of forgery has been registered against the employee.
In an unrelated incident, A 30-year-old Kuwaiti man was found slumped on the steering wheel of his car at an unidentified location has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily. According to initial reports the man had taken an overdose of drugs. The daily did not give more details.
Lankan gang in multiple burglaries: Hawally securitymen have arrested three Sri Lankans, who have allegedly broken into several houses in South Surra, carting away valuable items like wrist watches, gold, laptops, mobile phones, appliances and other electronic gadgets.
After receiving a number of complaints from the residents in South Surra that their houses have been burgled by unknown persons, the Hawally Security Directorate intensified its efforts to arrest the culprits, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
Preliminary investigations revealed a gang of three Sri Lankans have been breaking into houses and stealing valuable items. The authorities got wind of their modus operandi while they were trying to ship the stolen items through a cargo company in Shuaiba. When the authorities inspected the shipment, they discovered a large number of stolen items like watches, gold, laptops, mobile phones and electronic equipment.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted the crime and told police that they have carried out 15 burglary operations prior to their arrest. The authorities then appealed to the people to secure their houses and follow the guidelines set by the security departments if they are traveling outside the country.
Filipina nabbed: Police have arrested an unidentified Filipino woman for failing to pay KD 1,650 to an unidentified company, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily added the woman was arrested on suspicion while driving along a road with a male companion because she looked confused. When police checked their names on computer, the computer showed the woman had been sentenced in absentia to an unidentified term. She has been referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
