Bangladeshi ‘Facilitators’ arrested
KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested four Bangladeshis for helping Asian truck drivers get their papers processed faster at the Sulaibiya Customs department, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the men were taking from each truck driver between KD 20 and KD 80.
It has also been reported the men were stealing old revenue stamps, recycling them and selling them for much lower price.
Drugs-smitten Kuwaiti found dead in car : A Kuwaiti man, 30, died of drug overdose inside his vehicle in Hawalli area on Tuesday.
The Operations Room had received information that a man was lying unconscious inside his vehicle, but paramedics, who rushed to the scene, declared him dead.
Criminal Evidence Department officials referred the man’s remains to Forensics and preliminary investigation revealed drug overdose as the cause of death. Equipment used for drug consumption was found near the body.
Asian attempts suicide: In an attempt to commit suicide, a 35-year old Asian national slashed the artery on his right hand while in detention at a police station in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate. Medical Emergency Men were called to the scene, and the man was transferred to the Adan hospital for treatment.
Afghans hurt in fight: Two Afghans were injured in various parts of their bodies when they engaged in a public brawl in Farwaniya area. Acting on information the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received about the episode, securitymen accompanied paramedics to the scene to maintain order, and the men were referred to the Farwaniya hospital by paramedics for treatment. Initial investigation revealed that the men had a minor disagreement, which later escalated to fisticuffs.
Cash taken in burglary: A Kuwaiti man filed a complaint at Naim Police Station, saying thieves broke open the main door of his house and stole KD 1,200 from inside. The complainant said he noticed the broken door when he returned home. Investigations are going on.
