Man faking disability arrested selling ‘illusory’ flats to people Kuwaiti liquor peddler held with 120 bottles whisky
KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Police have arrested an unidentified person for pretending to be physically handicapped and forging 20 real estate sale deeds, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to personnel from the General Department from Criminal Investigation the men sold ‘illusory’ apartments inside and outside Kuwait. What is surprising many people fell into the trap and lost a lot of money.
According to reports most of the apartments sold by the suspect are either illusory or belonging to someone else.
The case has been handed over to the director of Hawalli Investigations. Investigations are continuing to find out if the man acted alone.

Acting on a tip-off, securitymen put the suspect under surveillance and an undercover agent later persuaded him to sell him two liquor bottles in Ahmadi area. The Kuwaiti was arrested red-handed when he came to handover the booze.

Govt action lauded: When MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei brought to the attention of the Ministry of Interior the graffiti written on the power transformer near the Al-Salam Palace and the home of the Prime Minister in Shuwaikh that Kuwait is part of the Persian Gulf, the reaction of the concerned authority was faster than lightning, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The wall where the graffiti was written was painted black and the word ‘KUWAIT’ in white paint was written instead.
This comes to prove that there are people among us who support the Iranian notion that Gulf is ‘Persian’ and not ‘Arabian’.
The word ‘Persian Gulf’ was a topic of discussion when the Iranian regime referred to the ‘Arabian Gulf’ as ‘Persian Gulf’ when a Kuwaiti friendship delegation visited Iran. The delegation was headed by MP Ali Al-Rashed.
Kuwaiti woman duped: A Kuwaiti woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the police accusing a Syrian man of cheating her to the tune of KD 5,000, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily said the Syrian lured the victim to do business - to import readymade clothes from China.
He took the money from the victim and traveled to China on a business trip. However, when the suspect failed to turn up in Kuwait, the victim filed a complaint with the police.
Police records show the suspect has traveled to Syria, not China.

Patrols are impounding about 50 vehicles daily for having tainted glasses, say sources, adding “citations are being issued to motorists for violating traffic regulations, reckless driving and speeding.” They added that traffic departments of all governorates are ready with cranes to impound any vehicle that violates traffic laws and regulations.
Syrian gang beats officer: Four Syrians have been summoned by the Andalus Police Station for allegedly beating a Kuwaiti officer working for the Ministry of Defence, reports Arrouiah daily.

However, when the officer refused to budge, the four men beat him.
