Gang mauls Asian: Four dishdasha-clad men allegedly beat an Asian expatriate with sharp objects and sticks when the latter refused to hand them his wallet and mobile phone. The expatriate suffered 33 injuries on his face, two on his head, an arm fracture and various other injuries as a result. He is currently recuperating in the intensive care unit of Jahra Hospital.
Passers-by found the man profusely bleeding and called the Operations Room, after which paramedics rushed him to hospital. The culprits also snatched the victim’s wallet containing KD 200, ATM cards, personal documents, and his mobile phone.
Securitymen noted down the description of the suspects and their vehicle and circulated it to all checkpoints. A case was registered.

Father, girls rescued: A citizen with his two daughters suffocated when fire engulfed their home in Naeem area.
Securitymen, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene when the Operations Room received a report about the fire. Upon arrival, paramedics referred the man and two daughters to the nearest hospital, after they had given them first aid treatment, whereas firemen managed to quench the fire in a record time. The case was registered.

Egyptian duped: An Egyptian expatriate filed a case at Hawalli Police Station, saying his compatriot duped him and escaped with KD 200 and his passport, reports Al-Anba daily.
The complainant, who was embroiled in a fugitive case, gave the suspect his passport and KD 200 to settle the problem, but the latter escaped with the money and the document. The complainant stressed that he has been calling the man to know the situation and retrieve his passport to no avail. He informed police that he only wanted his passport and that the money no longer mattered to him.  A case was registered and police are looking for the suspect.
