Overstaying visitor to pay KD 10/day Ban eyed for two years

KUWAIT CITY, July 18: Violating the period of stay while on visit to Kuwait generates a fine of KD 10 each day and maximum of KD 1,000, reports Al-Shahid daily.

The daily quoting reliable sources from the Ministry of Interior added that individuals on visit visa violating the residency law will be banned from entering the country for two years, while their sponsors will not be permitted to grant sponsorship to other people for one year. It also affects accompanying individuals whose names are listed on the visitor’s passport.

In cases where visit visa is transferred to temporary residency, under Article 14 of the residency law, penalty for the residency violation will be KD 2 daily. Moreover, should the visitor deliver a baby, the Immigration Department in the concerned governorate must be notified immediately for necessary action, sources explained.

Meanwhile, it is important to complete the residency procedure within two months from the date the visitor enters the country, in order to avoid any violations; otherwise, the individual will have to pay KD 2 as fine for each passing day during the violation period and a maximum of KD 600.
