Shipment of magician’s ‘tools’ seized Gangs of shoe thieves
KUWAIT CITY, July 15: Customs authorities at the Kuwait International Airport have seized a shipment containing 20 books, the type used by magicians containing some verses from the Holy Quran in a ‘distorted’ form, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources the shipment came from an unidentified Arab country through courier service.
‘Spies’ referred to court: The Public Prosecution has referred the members of the so-called espionage network to the Criminal Court, reports Al-Rai daily.
In addition to the members two women are also charged with working for a foreign state. One is the daughter of one of the suspects and the wife of another.
Delivery man stabbed: An unidentified Egyptian man working for a home delivery fast food restaurant in Jahra has been admitted to a hospital with stab wound in the hand, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the victim was on his way to deliver a food parcel. Two men driving in a car stopped him and showed him a paper pretending to look for someone.
One of them then pulled out a knife and asked the victim to hand over the money. When the latter refused, the man stabbed him in the hand while the other grabbed his wallet and escaped. Police are looking for the suspects.
Gangs of shoe thieves: The citizens and residents of an unidentified area have appealed to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to provide metal boxes to place the shoes outside mosques after it has been discovered that there are gangs which specialize in stealing shoes of worshippers, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Wanted Asians held: Hawalli securitymen arrested five Asians who were reported absconding and were wanted in breach of trust cases, reports Arrouiah daily.
Sources say the men were traveling in a bus and when securitymen stopped it to conduct a routine check, the men tried in vain to hide themselves. Securitymen checked records and on learning about their wanted status, referred them to authorities.
Lawyer’s phone pinched: Capital securitymen are looking for an unidentified person who stole a female lawyer’s cell phone while she was getting a transaction processed at a bank, reports Alam Al-Youm daily.
A case was registered at Al-Salhiya Police Station and sources say securitymen will review the footage of CCTVs installed in the bank to identify the thief.
Receptionist insulted: A receptionist working at Al-Razi Hospital filed a complaint at Shuwaikh Industrial Area accusing a Lebanese man of insulting her while she was on duty, reports Al-Shahid daily.
Reportedly, the Lebanese man tried to enter the doctor’s room without bothering to wait for his turn. When the receptionist brought it to his notice, the man allegedly insulted her in front of other patients and employees. A case was registered and the man will be summoned for investigation.
