Bangladeshi shot on road Liquor factory sealed
KUWAIT CITY, July 14: A 32-year-old Bangladeshi was shot 2cm away from his heart by an unidentified person, as he was walking by the road in Sabah Al-Salem area.
The victim is said to have spotted three youths inside a vehicle, and then suddenly, one of them got down from the vehicle and aimed the shot at him. Passersby reportedly placed a call to the Operations Room, whereas paramedics accompanied security officers to the scene without delay.
Upon arrival, the injured person who was lying in a pool of blood was carried to the Mubarak hospital for treatment. The case has since been registered, while investigation is in progress to arrest the perpetrator.
Liquor factory sealed: Based on a tip-off, security operatives from the Ahmadi governorate raided a flat which was being used as liquor factory and arrested an Asian national running the factory.
Sources said the officers seized 26 bottles of local gin packed in bottles and ready for sale. They also discovered the culprit had no valid residency after checking his details. He was referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Man, 2 women held drunk: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested with two other women in their 20s and 30s respectively for consuming alcohol, at a security checkpoint along the Gulf Street.
Security sources said a bottle of imported liquor was also found when the officers searched inside their car. They were referred to the relevant authority for further investigation.
Violating shops shut down: In coordination with the Kuwait Municipality, security operatives from Jahra recently initiated an intensive campaign at several shopping centers and coffee shops, as well as restaurants, closing down four shops.
According to sources, commercial cheating violations have been issued against those shops, and the campaign will continue over an unspecified period.
Maid injured in fire: An Asian domestic worker in her late 30s sustained second degree burns in various parts of the body when fire engulfed her room inside the sponsor’s residence in Yarmouq.
Acting on a report the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received about the fire, securitymen accompanied paramedics and firefighters to the scene to assist the situation.
Meanwhile, the injured woman was referred to Al-Babtain center for burns, as paramedics tried to put out the fire. The case was registered.
Kuwaiti held with liquor: The Farwaniya police patrols have arrested a Kuwaiti man for possessing three bottles of booze, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspect has been referred to the concerned authorities.
