Police hunt for Egyptian, fake money dealers gang
KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Police are looking for an unidentified Egyptian man for attempting to change fake Saudi money into Kuwaiti currency, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the suspect, who allegedly works for a well-known company went to a money exchange and asked to change 21,000 Saudi riyals in (all banknotes in 500 riyals denomination) into Kuwaiti currency.
After the man handed over the cash and produced his ID, he was told to wait for the transaction to complete.
An employee at the exchange suspected the authenticity of the money and informed the security authorities. The Egyptian suspected something was wrong and escaped from the scene before the police arrived. Police believe this is the work of a gang.
Asian robbed: A Bangladeshi man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the Abu Halifah police accusing an unidentified person of breaking into his room and stealing his wallet containing his ATM card, civil ID and driving license, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The man then reportedly withdrew KD 160 from the victim’s account using the ATM card.
Police are looking for the thief.
Kuwaiti looted: A thief broke into a Kuwaiti man’s house in Saad Al-Abdullah area and decamped with an expensive watch and a LCD, besides several other things, reports Al-Shahid daily.
The man filed a police complaint and said he found the main door broken when he returned back home with his family.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidence Department lifted fingerprints from the scene to identify the culprit.
